This one day seminar will look into the legalities of using student accommodation as a hotel or hostel for tourists, as required by many universities,  and the challenges that this will bring to staff.

Are there any reasonable adjustments that should be made to accommodate guests with disabilities? This seminar will look into whether the standards that are set in the Housing Act 2004 are sufficient when operating as a hostel or hotel and the legal aspects of running conferences and opening student accommodation to tourists. It will also examine the health, safety and fire precautions regulations that apply to conference accommodation and any differences between this and residential accommodation.
